About the event
The LifeVest® ( https://lifevest.zoll.com ) wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) is designed to protect patients at risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD), when a patient’s condition is changing and permanent SCD risk has not been established.
While some defibrillator devices are implanted under the skin, the LifeVest WCD is worn directly against the patient’s skin. It is lightweight and easy to wear, allowing patients to return to most of their daily activities with peace of mind that they have protection from SCD. LifeVest is designed to detect certain life-threatening rapid heart rhythms and automatically deliver a treatment shock to save a patient’s life.
The discussion will be focused on how the EMS community might interact with this product. While this dinner is focused on EMS/ED settings, nurses and providers from out of hospital locations and tele/ICU nurses will benefit from the talk. A product demo will be followed by a presentation…
